Ministries at Vergennes ChurchOur ministries are places where we study God’s word, grow in relationships with others, and apply what we learn to real life.
Every Sunday, all children (babies through 5th grade) experience safe, age-appropriate environments where they engage and grow with Jesus. Our PreK-5th grade Sunday school program meets regularly throughout the school year (September-May) during our 11:00 a.m. service. In the summer, we encourage families to worship and serve together. Kids are a vital part of the Vergennes Church family!
We are all about helping 6th-12th grade students discover their faith, explore their gifts, and begin practicing them in the church and in the world.
Throughout the school year, Middle School students are invited to participate in the start of the worship service before being dismissed for their own Sunday School experience partway through the 11:00 a.m. service.
High School students are encouraged to take an active role in Sunday morning worship, small groups, and mission opportunities. On Sunday evenings, our joint high school youth group with Lowell United Methodist Church meets from 6-7:30 for fun, bible study, and community outreach.
For us, Missions means getting involved in our community and our world so that it may be “on earth as it is in heaven”. Our community partners include Flat River Outreach Ministries, Alpha Family Center, Celebration Fellowship, and Gilda’s Club. We also participate in the annual Lowell Crop Walk, as well as support various global ministry initiatives, including United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR), Field of Dreams – Uganda, Bibles for China, and the Crop Hunger Walk
Women’s ministry at Vergennes Church seeks to create environments for women to connect with one another and grow closer to Jesus. Special opportunities for women at Vergennes include weekend retreats, conferences, and other special events.
The Men at Vergennes Church grow closer to Jesus by connecting as brothers in Christ and serving in the community together. Events include an annual Men’s Conference in Lowell and various service projects as community needs arise.
Outreach at Vergennes is all about sharing our story with others as people who have been transformed by the love of Jesus. We do this by living out our faith in our daily lives, learning how to share our own story, and helping Vergennes Church share its story with the world around us.
