Indoor Services FAQ

What time are the services?
9am and 11am

Will service be available for those of us who choose to not attend in-person services?
Yes! We will continue live-streaming our services. This is something we will probably always do!

Which service will be available online?
To start, we will only be streaming the 9am service.

How do I access the online live stream service?
We recommend you access the online service by going to . This online platform includes an interactive experience, with a chat window for you to connect with others attending online. Pastor Tom will be following the chat live as well! You can also watch the service live through our Facebook page.

What if my home internet is weak, or I don’t have any internet access?
If you don’t have strong internet service, you can follow along with the service over the phone by calling 1 (208) 717-2858, and entering the following code when prompted: 488 998 672#.  Note; this will only work when we are live on Sunday morning!

What if I want to worship online, but I’m not really a 9am-on-Sunday kind of guy/gal?
You can watch the whole service afterwards on our Facebook page. You can also watch past messages or listen to them through our podcast. We usually have them uploaded before the end of Sunday. (You can find our podcast on your favorite podcast player by searching “Vergennes Church”.

I’m feeling a little under the weather, but I don’t think it’s COVID. Should I attend an in-person service?
No. We are definitely in a time where it is better to be safe than sorry. This is why we’ve gone to great lengths to make worship accessible even if you need to stay home. If you’re not feeling well, it’s wise to assume that you could have the virus rather than not, out of the possibility that you could unwittingly pass it on to others in our congregation. Consider getting a COVID test so that you can definitively determine whether you have the virus, before declaring yourself COVID-free.

Will there be childcare?
Yes, at the 11am service. Our Children’s Ministry Coordinator Beth Wright has been working very hard to create a safe, fun, spiritually engaging experiences for kids ages 0-7. They’ll be meeting in the upstairs Sunday school rooms. Please arrive a little early to get kids checked in.

Will I have to wear a mask?
Yes. Masks must be worn while you are in the building and moving to and from your seat in the sanctuary. We recommend that you wear the mask at all times that you are inside, but you may remove your mask once you are in your seat and physically distanced from other households.

Will there be singing?
We will continue to include music as an expression of our worship. To get started, the Worship team is currently planning on recording the songs for each week ahead of time, so as to limit any potential exposure from singing. This will be played during the Sunday morning service. You are welcome to sing along with these recordings, but we ask that you wear your mask while singing.

Will we pass the offering plates?
No. Offering plates will be set up in the back of the sanctuary, and you can drop any offering of cash or check in an envelope in the plates as you leave the sanctuary at the end of service. We also have safe and easy online giving options, where you can give a one-time gift, or set up a recurring gift. Thank you for your generosity!

Will we celebrate communion?
Typically, Communion is the first Sunday of the month. Since we already have quite enough to figure out with this being our first Sunday back in our building, we will wait until later in the month to celebrate communion. When we do, we will do so in a safe way that will limit any potential exposure. (We are so grateful that our Administrative Coordinator Leslie Woodman has many years of experience in food service!!)

Will Pastor Tom ever get a haircut?
We honestly don’t know. It’s getting really long, isn’t it…
